I am completely unhappy with freeservers. I have had them for a couple years (not the free service, but paid service) but recently I can no longer connect to their SMTP and POP servers. Over the past couple weeks I have emailed them several times but they simply respond with a form letter that consists of their faq. Now, my question... I am wanting to switch to a different service. What needs to be done to be able to keep my web address? I am guessing it's similar to cellphones and their portability? Been a photographer for a long time but a web guy... never! the company you chose to be your new host can do all the leg work for you to maintain your domain name. but you need to make sure you have all your data off your current host first. James |
