And to think that in a few years us "Boomers" will be reliant on people of that generation to make decisions affecting our daily lives is really scary.

I'd be willing to bet if you were to ask 100 of their generation, "What is the Magna Carta and what is the significance of it as it relates to the freedoms guaranteed by the US constitution?", you'd get maybe 5% that could give a reasonably correct response.

I bet thats a spell checker mistake. In MS Word, it suggests I use Carter in place of Carta.

Uhhhh, what generation? All the headline writers, editors, and proofers down at the Chron are in their mid 20s? Teens? I think the Austin American Spaceman is run by monkeys (Kelso being the gorilla leader), so maybe you're right. I just came in to stick up for the youngsters.
