My good friend got home from Iraq today... YEAH!!! His family is so excited. Thanks to all of our Military and their families that give up so much so that their loved ones can fight for all of our freedom.

My best friend just got back the first week in December from 15 months over in Iraq. I just got back from his house, and the sumbitch made me cry tonight. The stuff they are going through over there is not pretty.

We went hunting on Monday and Tuesday of this week and I started a thread in the sports section, but it kinda seemed appropriate here, as I ended up rambling a bit.

As I mentioned, these five in the photo just got back from a hellish place on earth, and yet their chest swelled with pride as each of them (when cornered to talk about it) would recount the various accomplishments and progress that they were able to acheive in the 15 months they were in Iraq. Stats like 22.5 hours a day electricity in remote villages, and running water for over 16 hours a day (where before the invasion it didn't exist at all). New schools being built, and general overall infrastructure improvements were the highlights for these guys that actually kinda made their eyes twinkle with pride. I cannot tell you how proud I am to have gotten the opportunity to spend just a few days in their presence. I have new heros today, and I actually got to take their picture..... I just wish I could have done a better job.

That was very nice! Coming from a soldier's fiance who has been over there before. It makes me glad he's home and pray he doesn't go back!

From my military family to those that have served, and are serving, may you all return safe and sound to the ones you love.

Looks like I may be joining you once again....
