Here's an interesting article written in the year 1900, predicting what it would be like in the next century. Check out what predictions came true and which ones didn't.

Take a look at the prediction about photography.

Amazingly, the author was right on many of the predictions, ie, the speed with which photographs can be taken then sent around the world in a matter of seconds.

I like the one "Man will see around the world".
Talk about having a crystal ball!!!

He was off on air ships being used for war purposes only.

"The living body will to all medical purposes be transparent. "...possible for a physician to actually see a living, throbbing heart inside the chest." This work will be done with rays of invisible light." We now have all that--CAT scans, MRI's, ultrasounds/echo...

He was wrong about most drugs not being swallowed(and applied with electric current), but was right about drugs for the lungs being applied directly--i.e. asthma inhalers.

He was also wrong about people walking 10 miles, most people don't walk much at all.

All in all the guy did a good job.

While in the Army, I remember standing in a line while being applied vaccines/injections from a gun held apparatus. That would make it "applied with electronic current", maybe...
Yes, most people don't walk much except those who are health conscious.

But look at this URL

Creating synthetic life.

lol The part where they say man will live to 50 instead of 35...now that is funny. He probably would have crapped his pants knowing people are easily living into their 70's and 80's. And can I just say I wish he was right about the part of it taking us just a few minutes to get to work and it costing a penny!
