I was at Walmart about an hour ago and they had one in stock that they announced over the loudspeaker. It didn't last long.

We camped out Fry's before they opened. 60 arrived that day, they said 40 would. We were #49 and started to walk away when they walked out with 60 vouchers. If you did not get a voucher then, you had to wait until noon when they put out any left overs.

They get them in at Game Stop at 11:30 lol. I have a list of about 20#s I had to call to find one. We also had to buy the $500 bundle to get it :(

I was surprised to see that the Costco in Arlington (Matlock and 20) had 5 boxes of Guitar Hero III for the Wii. That's been a pretty hot item this Christmas.

I'd recommend checking eBay as well. I purchased one at $20 over retail and didn't have to pay tax, so it worked out to be about what I'd pay in the store and no calling or driving to different stores. There are some that will ask $800 for it, but there are some that are reasonable. Can't hurt to look.

When they announce something like that, it's a good idea to seek shelter. My son-in-law got one at Game Stop for our grandson. I'd like one at our house too, but I'll wait until after the new year.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I don't get whats so great about the wii.

My brother has one and its just not that great a system. Sure the wireless controller thing is cool, but in my experience you lose a lot of control with it. I do not see myself getting many headshots with a wand and a nun chuck. Not to mention that all the games are just plain silly. I do hear zelda is cool but I've yet to play that.

I donno, maybe I'm just one of the stick, button, & trigger generation, but I prefer being a couch potato with my controller; if I want to feel like I'm really playing golf, I'll go play golf (I still don't get the golf games... I mean seriously, its GOLF) As for guitar hero, it follows in the footsteps (haha, pun) of DDR, If your good at playing guitar, you suck at guitar hero, and you can get all the points you want on guitar hero, that doesnt give you the right to touch a real guitar.

So I'm wondering, is it just the novelty of the fancy new controllers thats got everone wii-crazy or are there actual serious gamers out there who love the wii?

Roberto, all I can say is in my house we have a PS2, PS3, Xbox360, and Wii . . .two teenagers, one pre-teen, and a husband who is about as gamer-geek as you can get. And the Wii is by far the console of choice, for everyone.

We have the 360, an old X-box, the Game cube, a Wii bundle with several games under the tree, Guitar Hero 2, and then Rock Band under the tree. Not to mention the Nintendo DS and games that go with it. Then let us get into the 4 PCs and gamest that they have lol.

So sorry to hear about your loss. This is a hard time of year when you have major loss in your family.

This is the 3rd christmas without Dad and 2nd without Mom
