... a smile on the face of an orphan in Africa because the money we raised will now give them two meals instead of one daily.

...the smile on my children's faces Christmas morning.

...my mom when all the family is able to get together at her house for Christmas Eve.

... when my cousin returns home from the war for New Year's.

Wow! I originally started this thread to brag about getting new tires for my car. You guys have taken this in such a neat direction! Gotta love TPF.

To me, happiness is:
... the fact that my 12-year old son cares less about what his friends think than he does giving me a hug in front of them and saying, "I love you, dad."

... spending time with my wife in front of the fireplace just staring at the flames and enjoying being together.

... understanding and basking in the true meaning of this holiday season.

... quiet time.

Hold on to this as long as you can...my daughter is 17 and right down the hall from me most of the time, but I miss her terribly. *sigh*

When Jeff and I got told we weren't going to have kids, without more surgery, he jokingly said I could have another puppy. My response to him was "I like puppies."

So my happiness right now, comes from the Higher Power that sent me a puppy that needed a home, and someone to love him. A puppy that is so excited when he sees me and runs to my lap. He loves me above everyone else and makes me giggle.

Now, if I can just get him to stop trying to get a date with River (our Border Collie) LOL!!!!
