Christmas photo mishaps! - 12-25-2007, 10:54 PM

A friend of mine asked me to come over for Christmas to his brothers house to shoot a casual family portrait. "ARGH....ok....(sigh)..." I usually just shoot sports but he's a good buddy so what the heck. I borrowed some lights and set them up on the patio surrounding the pool and started to shoot. Long story short, I ended up with some really good shots but out of ALL of them, my buddy's mom who wanted this done liked this one the best:
WHY? Because it was their reaction to one of the Alien Bees falling over the very second I pressed the shutter......go figure

wow now if we can figure out how to get lighting to fall over at the right moment without damaging the lights it would be a great gimmick to use on clients.

Bulb in AB went out, not the flash one, but the regular bulb. Also bent reflector umbrella - easily fixed. But the expressions are priceless!
