Anyone claiming photgraphic objectivity has never chosen an aperture, shutter speed, color balance, contrast, lens focal length, time of day, season of year, subject, shooting distance, or camera/subject angle, among many factors that are responsible for the look of a photograph.

Struth knows that as well as anyone. His work is composed of set pieces as meticulously constructed as those of, say, Cindy Sherman.
