What was your favorite TV series when you were a kid? - 12-30-2007, 10:18 PM

I used to love:

Lost in Space - I have since come to suspect that they were sharing the same sets with Star Trek. Why the heck didn't they just take Dr. Smith and just jettison his sorry butt into space? I liked the robot - he was cool.

Speed Racer - I was young. I didn't know any better.

The Partridge Family - I was young. I didn't know any better.

Hogan's Heroes - If only the Germans were really that inept, we could have won the war in 2 days.

I Dream of Jeannie - Barbara Eden (*sigh*). 'Nuff said. Major Nelson must have been gay.

Gilligan's Island - Definitely Mary Ann. Why didn't they just take Gilligan and jettison his sorry butt into the ocean?

I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that I could think of most quickly. I interpret that as meaning that they are the ones that I enjoyed the most.

I liked those 2 and oh I loved Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) But with all that stuff they had no wander the Minnow had problems. Why did they need that much for a 3hr cruise?

I loved a lot of shows....

Emergency! - That got me interested in firefighting.
Code Red - Another firefighting show with Lorne Greene.. Didn't last long.
240 Robert - About a rescue squad
Battlestar Galactica - the original with Lorne Greene at the helm. And I love the theme music
Airwolf - The big bad black helicopter
Knight Rider - Black Car with the Hoff
Love Boat - Just loved Jill Whelen - I dreamed of taking a cruise and falling in love with her.
M*A*S*H
Beverrly Hillbillies
Gunsmoke - Loved to watch Festus and Doc argue.
Andy Grittith
Bonanza - Dan "Hoss Cartwright" Blocker is my TV hero. He was a big guy that was caring and gentle and being a big guy I have always tried to be gentle and caring like him.
Little House on the Prairie
Black Sheep Squadron - the flying misfits of VMF 214 under the command of Pappy Boyington played by Robert Conrad

I know I am forgetting a lot of shows.

OMG--when I was a kid my Dad & I used to walk about 2 1/2 miles to town 1 nite a week to his favorite tavern and watch baseball or "wrestling" on 5" B&W TV with a magnifying glass in front of it. We never had TV until I left for the Army. Wow this thread brought back some crazy memories!. Thks.

For other fans there is a marathon on the Sci Fi Channel right now.

I must also pay homage to Jonny Quest

Anyone else remember seeing the NBC peacock spread its feathers in color for the first time at the beginning of the Johnny Carson show?

I was the remote control back then, flipping between all three available chnnels. Ahh, those were the days.
