Prairie dog town (in Lubbock)! Getting a "new" and "different" shot of the little weasels will provide at least a small challenge. Lots of party animals at Tech, too.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the great info!!! We are here now and working on getting settled, I will be offline for about a week waiting on internet at the house. I am looking forward to being able to check out the places y'all have suggested and, Todd, I'll definitely check out a meeting (or two) once I get a chance.

I don't know much but I've driven through Lubbock and stayed overnight there during goose season and saw more Canadian geese there than I think I've seen anywhere. Quite a few in town at a local park.

If I was that close to Palo Dura I'd go often. Be looking for some beautiful sunsets too.

I hear there's also something called Red Raider in the area.

there is quite a bit of red raider investation, lol...especially on the roads, you better watch out ;). Also, good luck with the move in, those are never fun.
