Announced today as part of the Economic Stimulus Plan.

Quote:
Breaks for Business

The package would allow businesses to immediately write off 50 percent of purchases of plants and other capital equipment and permit small businesses to write off additional purchases of equipment.
Throw in the $1,200 per working couple tax rebate and you could get some new gear.

Just wait until you see all the 'qualification' rules that the IRS will use to 'administer' this great windfall we are all expecting.

Eventhough my wife and I pay taxes on our 'non-working' income, now that we are retired... bet we won't get a dime because we have no 'working' income.

Remember, the government is geat at political double speak (both Democrats and Republicans).
--- not to start any forbidden political discussion ---

But a new D300 sure sounds tempting, if I get more than a dime!!!

the business part is probably not going to effect me, but if there is any extra on the taxes this year , it will go some towards debt, and I think I would like some pocket wizards. remotely firing a camera seems cool!

No idea how much I'm going to get as a single dad with one dependent, but part of it should go nicely toward a Sigma 150 macro.

Some people that paid no taxes at all are eligible for the "rebates". You guy's worked hard, made your mortgage payments on time and get nothing, nada, zero zilch!
And the redistribution of wealth continues...

Individual netting more than $75,000 gets the $600.

Couples netting more than $150,000 filed jointly gets the $1,200

Screw you IRS.

UP TO $75,000 or $150,000 get the money.

Looks like poppa needs a new pair of shoes.... course it has to pass the House and Senate first.
