That's exactly like that movie of photo stills shot with a 20D where a girl drops her camera and the man looks through the photos to track her down. Somebody here knows what I'm talking about

Is there a way to put your personal information in the software of the camera? I have a 30D. So the honest person will know who it belongs to and make it easier to track me down.

I took a Nikon photog class a hundred years ago (ok, three or four, but it was a LONG time ago) and the teacher suggested we take the book they gave us (a very small grey card) and write our name on it and then take a photo of it and always keep it on our camera...that way if we lost it and an honest person found it, there's our name and phone #.

all my cf cards have my name and phone number on them, so if they pop that out, they will at least have a phone number to try

I've added my name and email address under the Camera Owner field so it is imbedded in all my photos. I've done these to all my Canon DSLR's and point and shoot camera.

That is an AMAZING story....and the fact that they put so much time & effort into finding the owner...there are honest folks among us still who will go to great lengths to do the right thing.

Use the Viewer Utility (EOS DIGITAL Software Instruction Manual) that came with the camera.
