I ordered my new DL on the internet at the Dept. of MV website when it was expired.... you should be able to do the same for a replacement. It may cost you though... I dunno.

Sorry....

But I pulled this right off the Texas Department of Safety web site

Can I replace a lost or stolen license through the online process?
No, if a duplicate license/ID is needed due to having your current license/ID lost or stolen it must be obtained in person at a local driver license office.

I belive you have to go to the DMV and redo everything... the cost is 10.00 for replacing it... 16.00 if you have to CHANGE info on there...

go on a week day at about 3:00pm and you can avoid alot of the waiting and waiting game!

Yep, I lost my wallet and had to do the same thing. I went to the DMV and ten minutes and $10 later, I was back on the road.

If you are over 21 you can go to ANY DPS office. I usually go to the nearest one to me that is out of the big city and in a small town. They usually have a small office and there are normally NO lines. Just make sure it is not a school holiday.

Unfortunately I am close to downtown on the west side. Probably have to go Mangum/290.

What am I supposed to use for I.D. when I get there? Passport? SS Card?
