I need some advise please

I'm new to the whole photography scene. I took this picture http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=66311 and apparently it's not bad! Well, on another photo site, someone asked if they could use it a project because they are a programmer. What's the protocol here? I'm not a professional or anything, so I'm not sure what to do. On one hand, I'm flattered that this person thought enough of the image to want to use it, but on the other hand, I do want to get credit for it. So, what do I do?

you might want to check the copyright rules on the other site where they found the photo. also, you technically own the rights to the photo. if you allow them to use it, just have them credit you on the site they're using it for.

Don't just give away the photo for credit - you worked hard (even if it was by accident) and you deserve to be compensated.

What exactly are they planning to use it for? I.e. it will be on their webpage for a business, a personal website, part of a Power point, etc?

What format are they looking for - Digital or Print?

How much time have you spent on post? How much more time if any will you spend in post?

I think I'll ask what they want to use it for and go from there. I'm not sure what to do to be compensated. How do I go about that?

Once you know what they are for then set a price that you feel is reasonable. I take payment from paypal or check.
