So I get home tonight from the seminar in Ft Worth, a very enjoyable evening I might add, I grab a glass of wine, slip into my PJs and head off to my office to look thru the info we were given and unwind before heading to bed. I flip on the light and my eyes were immediately drawn to a gift bag on my husband’s desk from my FAVORITE jewelry store! He must have gotten busy and forgotten about it. My bday is Sunday and hard as it is to wait (ummm its jewelry and it’s sitting right behind me lol) I didn’t peek, I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for either of us, but when I was younger I sure would have! I turned the bag the other direction so you couldn’t see the name of the store and hopefully he won’t know I saw it. Just wondering what YOU would do… would you PEEK??? | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Hope it's for you. A joke. That was just a joke. But if you do not get something from that store on Sunday:
He may have done some early Christmas shopping for you.
Purchased something to donate to a charity auction to buy food for anorexic models.
Realized that he does not tangibly show affection enough for mom, sister, aunt, first grade school teacher, your mom, your sister(wait, x that out, may be a very bad example), etc.
May be thinking of doing some macro photography and needed some samples to do.
Worried that with the erratic and extreme weather we have due to climate change, he might need some shiny objects to flash at rescue helicopters in case he gets caught in a blizzard.
The contents of the bag may be something he is returning as being not good enough for you.
He may carry his lunch to work in the bag to save money to get you something really terrific at just the right time, which may not be as soon as you might think.
A lot of guys know that their wives do not value birthday presents very highly, what with it being kind of a an obligatory, ritualistic kind of offering. So he may be planning to give you something from the bag on the spur of the moment, sometime down the line, when the mood is just right. That's right, he may just be a true romantic at heart, lucky you!

I'm more of a jokester. Take whatever it is out of the box and replace it with something else.

This has me laughing so hard I am Crying! Just think of his face when you open it and find a strawberry in it or a prize from a crackerjack box. Just sit back and think of all the things you could do, it will be alot more fun.
Leave it. No peeking! Just think how dispointed he would be if he found out or you were not excited enough. If I found you peeked, you would not be getting anymore presents. Quote: |

You may as well peek, it's half ruined already. If you never would have seen the gift in the first place, you would have been absolutely thrilled at whatever it was, partially due to surprise. However, now that you do know it exists, your mind is constantly going over what it could be, building it up to more than what it probably is, and you will most likely be at least a little disappointed when you open it.

My wife's birthday is Sunday also. I haven't gotten her gift yet. Your husband sounds like he's on the ball to me. Maybe just a little forgetful, or maybe it was a test to see if you would peek. Anyway, Happy Birthday!

I would not peek. If he ever found out somehow that you did, it would ruin the wonderful gift-giving joy for him. Remember, giving benefits both the giver and the receiver.

John (Coelus) my sister and her guy are always pulling stuff like that on each other. I get to be in the middle of it egging it on, it’s hilarious!
Janice, when my husband woke me up this morning he didn’t ask me if I saw the bag, but the bag was gone when I came in the office. Bless his little absent minded heart. lol He’s such a sweetie, I would have never peeked and ruined his surprise. OK, well if the bag said Canon on it, maybe! LOL JUST KIDDING!!!
Torrey, I don’t think it’s half ruined at all! Just because I know where he shopped doesn’t take away from his thoughtfulness, just the opposite. You sound like my Mom and Aunt around Christmas time. All they can think about is the actual gift itself. They’ll say something like “oh your Christmas present arrived in the mail today and you’re going to love it” trying to aggravate me, and I’ll say “OK” which drives them nuts because it doesn’t. But I turn the tables on them and they can’t stand not knowing what they got…. They’re like two 60 year old kids! It’s the same thing every year, but it’s fun.
Craig thank you and happy bday to your wife too!
OK some of you, this was not meant to be so serious. I can not help the fact that I saw the bag, I wasn’t snooping around, I didn’t peek, I even turned the bag sideways on his desk so it wasn’t so in your face when you walked in the room and hopefully he thinks I didn’t see it. I just thought this would be a fun topic. I know some people cant stand it and would have peeked, but for me it’s more fun to enjoy the moment when it’s supposed to be the moment.
LOL, Loana, it sounds like your enjoyment is alllllll in your detective work girl! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
