Super Sadness - 02-05-2008, 02:01 PM

I am so sad the patriots lost ! I just can't believe it !!!!!

There was no indication that they would lose, they have won in so many different ways it just doesn't make sense.

At first I was very sad and now I am just angry. *Sigh*

I hear you, I did not have a good feeling about the game from kick off! I am so sick of hearing about how great the Giants are now! Its like everyone is a Giant fan even people I know that usualy hate anything or any one from New York. Just to rub it in on me, I have some so called friends that have been trying to call me since Sunday and I have not answerd the phone. I am still so dammed depressed and I blame coach Belechek for wearing that stupid RED jersey! Why, why did he change his hooded sweatshirt, lol...

I'm not even sure how to respond. Finally I am getting over the loss now, every time I talk about it, it is hard. I know this is how Boston teams are, so I may never fully recover.

Let's talk about the game ... Why didn't they roll Brady out? If the Giants were blitzing every play and putting pressure with the front four, why did Brady stand in the pocket on so many of the plays? How does that allow you the best chance to win, if you don't try something different? Was his ankle really that bad?

They abandoned the running game too! Two straight games they ran and Maroney was a monster, but this time he got 11 yards on 8 rushes or something. They became one-dimensional and just could not get it going. I dont know why they didnt run more.

Why didn't they kick a 49-yard field goal on 4th and 13? I know they may have had a play, but on a night when nothing was working, why not try to boot it in? Brady ended up throwing the ball out of bounds, so I dont know what they had in mind.

Why did they rush 7 and only single cover Plaxico on the last play? I know its a goal line stance, but to leave Plaxico on single coverage means sure touchdown attempt every time.

The Giants beat them fair and square, but I thought they would be able to respond and react better than that. But I guess the game is over so it does not matter.

If they are found guilty of cheating on the Rams, its even harder to swallow everything.

I think I will still be a Patriots fan though - no matter how hard it is.

Hey at least they made it to the BIG dance.

My team, the Cowboys, didn't, should have, but didn't.

Truth be told, the Cowboys and Patriots along with the Packers all appeared to have shot their collective wads (peaked) by mid-season as exhibited by their second-half records and reduced point productivity.

The Giants on the other hand made some subtle changes to their offense to favor the way Eli performs, ie. dialed back on the long-ball attempts, focused more on Patriot style attack (short passes-letting the talent get the first down yardage), then well-timed long-ball attempts.

Their defense grew stronger as the season came to a close negating the need for high point production. This to me proved to be the perfect storm of productivity for them and it all came together at just the right time.

Look at the bright side. 18-1 ain't nothing to sneeze at, and there's always next season.
