I think first you have to want to make time. But not THAT much. I usually check for new posts a couple of times a day. For me, I am working on the parking garage shoot this weekend so I am on a little more. BUt then, if you have a problem or something you can't figure out ASK. When you do something new or you are proud of post about it. AND TAKE PHOTOS!!!

Find a particular subject on here that you know something about and explain what you know when a question comes up. Even if you are wrong or not sure, throw out your answer. If you are wrong, someone will come along and gently correct you, and then both you and the original poster will know more than they came in with. It is also a way to get started posting and interacting with folks on the board.

Another way is to post a joke. I only say this cause I like jokes

I'd like to gently disagree with you Dobick. I think you shouldn't throw out an answer if you know you are wrong or are unsure. Many people take what we say very seriously.

Of course, once they figure out who you (I) are they never pay attention anyway...

I very much resemble this remark!

Truly, I stand corrected. I never meant to imply that if you already know that your answer will be wrong, then please don't post it as an absolute. I only meant to say that you should not let a lack of knowledge on a subject stop you from participating in a discussion.

It's never stopped me

I've been a member for a while now, but didn't start posting much until 6 months ago.
It was due to not having enough time on my hand to log in to the forum. But now, I make time and am on here a little more than my wife would like. However, I did learn a lot more since I've been here more often.
