Yea, serious gun...I just think they shouldn't be allowed to advertise it unless to a specific government agency. (Like the military or police.) Consumers do not need this gun.

Next thing you know, it will some how end up in the hands of thugs and guess what...they are doing home invasions and the police can't even combat them.

Geeze...that gun serves no other purpose than to take human life.

I for one hope this NEVER become available for consumer purchase. The moment it does, is the moment it goes into te hands of people that shouldn't have one. (Criminals, etc.)

The problem Coby, is that the criminals are getting their hands on weapons now that are not for sale to consumers.
Last I checked, I can't walk into my local gun store and walk out with a full auto uzi... and yet the criminals seem to be able to find them. Mark my words... criminals will have this gun long before it's on the market for consumer purchase.

The full-auto part would take it out of the consumer market; that'd be a class 3 NFA weapon at that point. Get rid of that part, and it's not much different than a lot of the autoloader shotguns that are out there today: I know you can get a 10-round magazine for some of them already; the last ten would really be academic. Thing's gotta kick like a boogerbear, though.

Agreed, but the real problem is that here it is on YouTube so the world can see. Now they know what to go buy!

The companies that manufacture these weapons need to be held responsible for them. If they manufacture them, then they should be responsible for tracking them in a manner that prevents unauthorized sale of that weapon. Of course, I don't advocate that for all guns, but damn, this thing is nothing but a death machine. It can't be used for hunting...just taking human life.

Further, if you and your family was in a situation where THIS gun was necessary to protect you, as opposed to a regular 12 Ga. shotgun...damn, when did world war III start?

I agree with you wanting to protect your family, Toad. No problem with that at all. But it just seems our world is in a sad state if and when it takes THIS think to do that.

I think it is pretty clear from the original Futureweapons show that this is only a prototype of a military weapon. There are many military weapons that do no make it to the consumer. Take for example the FGM-148 Javelin. You can see example of them firing on you-tube and read about them on the internet. I don't think they will ever crossover to the consumer market.
As for this, If this keeps our troops alive by killing or suppressing fire from the bad guys, I'm all for it.

As far as it having no hunting purpose, I've been in a dove field where that would have really come in handy. It's really not much different than some stuff that's been on the market for almost 30 years.

Aside from not being very sportman-like, when I hunted, you could only have so many shells in you gun at one time; that was why you plugged you shotgun chamber.

Just so you know I ain't crazy:
From the TPWD Website on Firearm restrictions and game birds: "Legal Shotgun: Shotguns not larger than 10 gauge, fired from the shoulder, and incapable of holding more than 3 shells (shotguns capable of holding more than 3 shells must be plugged with a one-piece filler which is incapable of removal without disassembling the gun, so the gun's total capacity does not exceed 3 shells). "

Don't get me wrong...if this thing will help out troops, give them as many as they need.

What is scary about this weapon, even if intended for military use, is the availablitiy of the ammo. Try purchasing a FGM-148 Javelin and toting it around. Pretty obvious that you are doing something you shouldn't. A case of Shotgun shells? Ain't nothing suspsious about that until 10-12 people are dead and this was the weapon of choice.

Other military use weapons have ammo that is more difficult if not impossible to get your hands on. This thing, Wal-Mart puts the Ammo on Sale!

Pretty big difference.
