There are some incredible photos there, but I guess I don't understand where these photos come from.

It says, "This website is a collection of all interesting things that appear on internet every day. All pics, jokes and videos are preselected carefully so that you could get only the best of internet from day to day."

Does someone associated with that site just scarf photos off of other folks sites on the internet or off of MSNBC's site or what?

Yeah... they were just lifted from the MSNBC website.

Copyright violation or no, the owner of that link does a huge disservice to the world of photographers by not at least including the caption information and credit those photos deserve.

Okay, I see. If I look at the photos on the MSNBC site, the credit to the photographer and news agency is given at the bottom of each photo. It doesn't seem right that the other site just scarfs the photos and doesn't give credit... Just MHO.
