Apple mail pisses me off... - 02-26-2008, 05:50 PM

The junk mail filter in Apple mail really makes me mad. No matter how many times I mark mail from Apple advertising new products as "junk," it refuses to "learn" them as junk. It learns junk mail from other manufacturers just fine. C'mon Apple. Stop acting so childish.

What company is most likely the sponsor of the "Apple Mall"?

While I agree that Apple putting in code to ignore a suggestion they send junk is rather childish...

Since you know that Apple is the sender, why don't you just unsubscribe from their advertising list(s)?

Thanks Bill. This may sound dumb, but I've never thought of that. haha I just did it. hopefully no more.. but I seriously get so much junk email that I unsubscribing usually never works, so I let the junk mail filters handle it...

I'm curious if you're having this problem because of a rule created in Mail. In the preferences of Mail, there's a Rule tab, which seems to have a rule created for "News from Apple" by default. IF I read it correctly, it will color the message, then stop processing all other rules. I wouldn't be surprised if junk mail filtering is one of the other rules it's ignoring.

Based on what you've described, this seems likely to me.
