When you're on assignment at the Humane Society and you kneel on the ground in a puppy pen to shoot something and your camera bag tastes good.

Dogs just want the attention.... this made me laugh today.

"Hey... hey... hey... look at me, look at me. Hey you, hey guy... look at what I'm doing, look look."

I would have to refuse an assignment to the humane society. Not because of sadness or anything like that, but because I would end up taking one or more of them home with me.

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

My wife signed up to volunteer for the North Texas Humane Society a couple of years ago. She went to the training and afterwards, realized that she could not volunteer because she would want to load all the animals up and bring them home.

We do, however, send a large donation each month.

The story was the big local HS collected and donated more than $8,300 in change to the Humane Society... it was called Pennies for Puppies or something.

I am a huge huge fan of our local Humane Society.... I know they have a tough job out there deciding which ones to keep and which ones have to be put down. One of the things our paper does here is we go photograph a few animals every week for "Pets of the Week" which is basically an adoption ad. for them.

The only thing that keeps me from being a dog foster parent is my work sched. and the appartment rules.

Lol... if it helps.

It was a Nikon D2Hs with a 17-55mm f2.8 lens.... and I shot it one-handed, not looking while I was using the other body and 70-200 lens to shoot the other side of the puppy pen.

;-)
