I love quizzes, I know I'm weird. Made a 68. Not born or raised in Texas, thought I have been here for 26 years and I taught 4th grade Texas History for 8 years.

oh wow, I got 40%. How horrible!

Were either of the Bush presidents not born in Texas?

In Texas History in high school, I got extra credit for writing a paper on my great-great-great-great grandfather, Anson Jones, the last president of the Republic of Texas. Since then though, my family has done extensive research on it and cannot find any direct marital genealogy, but it is probable that we're decedents of one of his (many) bastard children.

He was also somewhat rivals with Sam Houston for political reasons. I wonder what he would think of me going to Sam Houston State University, lol.

ya I've seen both those pages before. My family also visited his plantation home a few years back and got to see all kinds of paintings and artifacts of his.

My grandfather, Billy Mac Jones, is also all over the internet. He was the president of the University of Memphis for.. 3 years I think? And his books are available for purchase on amazon, lol. He just passed away this past October so there's a lot of articles paying tribute recently.

I got a 58% and missed almost all of the sports questions, and I didn't read the tornado one closely enough, as it said 1953 instead of 1970, both on May 11.

I scored 65%. Some I just had to guess at, but most of those my second choice was the correct one.

Great quiz. I only scored a 50. I got most of the state history correct. It was the weather events that got me. And the trick questions. Nolan Ryan and the first female govenor. Oh well, I can say I learned a few things about this great state today.
