Ok, call me odd, but I like old photographs done using wet plate, and dry plate systems. Most were in whole plate sizes (6.5x8.5 inches), some are larger or smaller. The book is Photography in Japan 1853-1912. Collodion photographs taken with those ancient lenses have a beauty all their own that modern cameras and film just cannot match. This book combines two favorite subjects of mine, Old photography, and Japan. Well worth the purchase price, I just wish I could own some of these photos.

I like to go to Half Price books and check out the photo section. Get the old books with old black and white photos in them. I've accumulated quite a collection now, and normally I don't pay over $20 for any of them. I've discovered if they sit there for a couple months they get marked down. I just got 3 books yesterday. One was an old photo book on Tibet from 1969.
They had a large book on Man Ray that the employee was just putting away. It was an overview of his whole life, but it was $39.95. I'm going to wait and see if it hangs around a while.
