Where is this wall? - 03-05-2008, 12:27 PM

A random photo that comes up on the home page was an engagement shot in front of a red brick wall by cmalana. Apparently he isn't on here any more, but I'd really like to know where that wall is. Any ideas?
Thanks,
bill

It's not the Cotton Mill. I shoot there quite often. In fact, I was just there last Friday. I know someone said there was a red wall in Deep Ellum, supposedly across from Cafe Brazil, but I was just in Deep Ellum, shooting, didn't see anything like this.

I thought for sure there was a red wall up on the roof at the Cotton Mill. Maybe it wasn't red, but orange ???

Hmm, I've only been up on the roof once, and I don't remember that, but there could be. It wouldn't matter, however, since they no longer allow people on the roof.

I shoot at the Cotton Mill frequently, and I don't recall a wall quite that red! If it's there I'd love to find it!

OK guys I get the point. I went back and reviewed my Cotton Mill photos and indeed there is a very bright YELLOW wall. My very bad.
Of course with some color substitution it could be any color you want ??

There is a BLUE wall in Deep Ellum. It's not directly across from Cafe Brazil, but it is on the side street closest to Cafe Brazil (Malcolm X, I think). It is one the side of a currently vacant building. Cafe Brazil is on Elm and this building is 1 block south.

As Cap't Tom says, it could be any color you want in PS.

Nothing like that up there to my knowledge. This does look like the side of one of the cafe's in the old McKinney Square.

There is a red wall in Deep Ellum about one block East (?) of Cafe Brazil -

- but it may not be the same one.

maybe my plan to document colourful walls in Austin and augment that with GPS info isn't such a wacky notion after all!
