Up and coming bands

Does anyone know of up and comming bands (Battle of the bands etc.) in the metroplex that are looking for a photographer to help them with publicity shots or getting better quality photo's for their website? I'm finally getting my photography business together and I'm looking for clients.

I'm not up in that area - but I would suggest going out on MySpace and doing a music search for the area you are looking for. The look at the ones that have bigger numbers of fans and a busy schedule (will help you weed out the garage wannabes from the potiential better bands) and shoot them a message.

Or go and start hitting up the venues and promote yourself to the bands, fans and club management. Hand out cards. Word of mouth is a great tool.

And don't expect to get much money at first.

Great advice I'll hit up the bands on myspace. I have my cards ready and I'm putting my website together as well.
