Gotta agree... What a cool job.

Funny...totally not related, but today my boss asked me to be thinking about my long-term plans..."What would I ultimately like to be doing with the company"

Well I work in IT Security for a large publishing company that just acquired Reuters... So I said to him, well when my kids are out of school, perhaps I'd like to become a Reuters photog. LOL

"perchance to dream" ...And why not? A lot of companies hire from within! All they can say is no, and they can't take your birthday away.

Yeah.. but as a "friend" pointed out to me and crushed my dream.. "You really think they'll hire a "Newbie" photojournalist at close to 60yrs old?" LOL

For the record, my daughter is 1. So I have at least 17 more years until she's out of the house.. I'll be 56.

You never know though.. I won't be giving up on it... But it was a reality check.

LOL

Yep. Ring Flash. But you'll need to power it...Vagabond or AC...

It's a decent ring flash, but too plastic for me at certain stress points.

LOL! Joe posts a story about someone that landed a job that most of us could only dream about, and the thread becomes a discussion about the equipment that the guy uses. Only at TPF.....

Would anyone else have guessed that he shot with a ring flash?

I've wanted to use my ABR800 this way, but just haven't managed to get the power packs.

This is an awesome job... most of us would shoot it for free, too. At least at first.
