Problem: Photos dull and washed out viewing online. - 03-21-2008, 02:58 PM

I posted some images in the following threads:

http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=70423
http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=70424

When I view these photos in PS or Windows Picture and Fax Viewer they look great. But viewing them through a web browser they look dull and washed out. I am using Firefox. I tried IE and same results.

Anyone have any thoughts on why the big difference?

It's all Abels fault.

Check the ICC profile for each image. It should be set at sRBG for web viewing.

As mentioned.. Probably in Adobe RGB or Prophoto RGB..

Need to be converted to sRGB before put online or viewed with a web browser.

That is the problem. I went in and experimented and converted the .psd file to .jpg w/sRGB and it looks better.

Thanks!!!!!!!

Now I will convert them again and upload them.

I guess it's not all Abel's fault this time but it was the thought that counts.
