Well, had the D200 and a rented 70-200 2.8VR on a tripod - showed one of the gal's mom's what the buttons did and VOILA! She got the shot...

Just got back from seeing Daylon in this afternoon's show... great show, even if it was The Sound of Music (not among my favorite musicals)... you missed something good if you missed it.
And the oldest of the Von Trapp children is played by the daughter of one of my company's business associates... so got to see them both perform.. sweet afternoon. :)

Cool shot, Daylon... and you can't even tell the sidewalk is torn to shreds in that photo. LOL

I love this musical (sorry Brad). Edelweiss always gets me a little teary eyed.
Daylon, I'm curious how many musical photographers you have met. I'm now adding you to my list and it is quite extensive!

great lighting on the first shot ... usually theatre lighting is a lot harsher and more contrasty/sharp than that ...

laanba - musical photographers? Not sure - I started doing the musical theatre thing the same time I started shooting pics (about 15 months ago)...
p.s. I learned how to play Eidelweiss on the guitar for this show - I'll serenade ya sometime if we get the chance... short concert tho, it's the only song I know!
laawaaris - thanks - it helps when you have a rented 2.8 70-200 and two spotlight operators blasting you from the balcony.... lol!
