Welcome to 'old age' Murph

I've been wearing bifocals for several years and still haven't got used to them... especially trying to use the camera.

First, it's the eyes; then the hearing; and I can't remember what's next...

mmm after the hearing...it's the rest of the body..and bones...those weird shortlived aches and pains you used to get that went away quickly? mmm not so much anymore - they start hanging around longer and longer....

for me? i NEED bifocals...my hearing went years ago (thanks 60-70's) and a trip to the orthopedist yesterday for ongoing heel and shoulder pain confirms it....i'm getting old!

Depending on your age, you could try contact lenses. Then you would only have to deal with one pair of glasses.

Have you considered Lasik? Then you will only need reading glasses, but you will be able to see well enough to find them.

I hate glasses and yes now bifocals, been wearing glasses since I was in 3rd grade. Contacts won't work for me. I've been thinking about Lasik but I just worry about people messing with my eyes.

The bigger the glasses we have to wear, the more we might consider Live View as not such a bad camera feature.

I have been doing monovision contacts for about 10 years. Works pretty good, except sometimes the lens in my 'reading eye' gets dry and makes reading a challenge. It was easier for me to get used to the monovision over progressive bifocals.

Man, you guys are just depressing!!

If you are a candidate, I join Don's recommendation for Lasik. I had it done several years ago and was able to see clearly for the first time since I was a kid. Been wearing glasses since elementary school, and finally gave in to contacts when it became impossible to snow ski in the rain in Washington state with my Coke bottle lenses. That and I found a money back guarantee with a saint who put up with me for over 6 hours in the store trying to get them in the first time!

If I can go through lasik and love it, anybody can! It's not supposed to but I went without my reading glasses for almost 2 years post lasik. They're back now and a pain but better than the alternative. At least I do everything but read and work on the PC without glasses.
