I think we can expect much more regulation like this the future with Thomas Tutone as the new Texas Comptroller. His past record shows he is no one hit wonder.

I heard it's a Class C misdemeanor to let your dog poop on bluebonnets, too. This is not a Texas I want to be living in, and neither does my dog!

They just called me down!!! I posted some of my Bluenonnet pictures on Smugmug without passwording them, and someone in NY State saw them!
And I didn't even know a permit was required?

Anyone know of a good BB Lawyer?

Austin, Tatious:

The Texas Senate Select Committee on Illegal Wildflower Migration has announced a series of hearings on a proposed fence to prevent wind-borne transport of Texas-native wildflower seeds across the border.

Nearby state officials were quick to protest the plan, one Louisiana legislator claimed that cross-border seed transport was a federal issue and a state had no constitutional right to regulate interstate commerce. New Mexico officials dismissed the fence as pointless "since nothing grows in New Mexico anyway..." An Oklahoma spokeperson promised retaliation by announcing a similar law keeping all their wind-borne red dirt north of the Red River. "It's our main export, and we have to protect it too," said Bubba Johnson of the Oklahoma Red Dirt Growers Association.

A official from Nuevo Laredo pointed out that the fence, an 18 foot high open-weave chainlink style structure, was highly unlikely to prevent wind-borne seed migtration anyway.

My dog has a special executive exemption to allow him to poop on the BB's. I did a special personal favor for Lady Byrd Johnson, and Lyndon gave my dog a lifetime exemption.
It's a great country isn't it ?

Bush recently sold a track of BB's fields to Shiek Yiboudi Zayed...so there might have been some money passed to Austin for those laws to get written up.

The local newspaper ran an article this morning that Disney World: Texas! was voted down and will not be coming to Abilene. Whole big article. I've heard people muttering about it all day. Apparently lots of people think the city council would actually do something like this, had the opportunity been presented. Dude, thats sad. They shoulda went with some more fantastic - like Texas sized Jackalope spotted farming along side I-20 Early this Morning. I think he's burry big foot! Geeze man!
