A Tribute to Tiffany-Isa-Wolff - 04-05-2008, 08:30 AM

I thought I would show a picture of "Tiffany-Isa-Wolff" since she is why I came to be known as Texas Wolf Lady or "Wolf Lady". She is a wolf hybrid, 90% wolf and been a joy to take care of. The last five years, she has had two surgeries for cancer and came through those wonderfully. My vet did tell me the cancer would come back and he has been right.

The last several months Tiffany had problems with her hips so she was put on arth. meds and we noticed a great improvement, plus she turned 14 yrs old on Jan 10 & we (my son & I) have had her since she was 2 yrs old. When my son & I first saw her, it was love at first sight & she became a loved member of our family. Last weekend, Mar 29, I took her to the vet because she was just not being herself. Another tumor was found and this one was causing the problems with her hips but due to the size of the tumor, plus her age, the outcome was not good. My vet put her on steroids and she improved a great deal. She was able to be herself again but he cautioned me Tiffany's rebound was due to the meds.

This past week, we went for walks, spent a lot of time just hanging out together, Tiffany was eating great again and seemed to be enjoying herself. Sadly though, when I arrived home from work today, Apr 4, she was not able to use her rear legs at all. My vet had told me last Saturday we were near the end and I needed to consider putting her to sleep. Tearfully I called my vet this evening with a heavy heart, he came out and I had her put to sleep. She was in my arms until she went to sleep for the last time. My neighbor came over with a back hoe to help me bury her in "her" backyard.

We have all lost beloved pets and yes, the hurt is strong and the tears are flowing but I know she is in a better place now. She will be greatly missed and has been one of the best dogs/wolf my son & I have had the honor of sharing our life with. My son is in the Air Force and currently out of the country but I called him after leaving the vet last Sat to let him know what was going on. Sad time for all of us.

I took this photo of Tiffany & myself last Sat, Mar 29, after we returned home from the vet.

She was a beauty. I'm sorry you lost her. It's always sad when someone loses a pet, like losing a part of their family... At least you can take heart in knowing you gave her a loving home, and that she is no longer in pain. Take care.

she was a beautiful dog/wolf...

I know it is hard to loose a pet but know that you gave her a loving home and a great life here on earth.

I lost my beloved Lab a couple of months ago and someone had posted this for me.. I hope this touches you like it toughed me... hang in there it will get better!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

My heart goes out to you as I as well know how hard it can be to lose a beloved pet since they are a part of your family. Our prayers are with you and thank you for sharing her with us.

The loss of a pet is sometimes as hard as a person as they love unconditionally.

Here's a good book about the loss of a dog: http://www.amazon.com/Rescuing-Sprit...7441698&sr=8-2

My thoughts go out to you.

Many thanks to all for your kind words and thoughts. The Rainbow Bridge was heartwarming and appreciated. I know the pain will ease over time and I will acquire a new four legged family member in time. Again, thank you all very much.

Blessings to all..........
