I read that late last night. The man was an icon that's for sure.

Exactly what I was thinking.
Great man. Seldom do I find actors that cross into politics to be good. He was one.

I hope the family does bury a weapon with him, it would be fitting.

I was able to meet him about 4 years ago..when he was on the end of his campaign on Gun rights.. he was very guarded and didnt wander past the men surrounding him much....I did get to shake his hand and wish him well... He looked very tired and OLD... BUT he came to the gunshows in Puyallup often to advocate gun rights... Him and John Wayne... were the greatest!!!

I heard him speak several years ago. It was awesome. He had me sitting on the edge of my seat, with notepad in hand, ready to jot down the finer points of his speech. Mr Heston's voice was so memerizing. From a deep, crystal clear whisper, to the mighty rumble that shook the rafters. You felt the power of his voice in every word spoken.

And when he had finished.... I had not written a single word.

i won't remember him for the NRA stuff, but i will remember Heston for his role as Moses !

He was really good in Orson Welle's "Touch of Evil" Otherwise, OK, with a great face for certain parts. From other things I've read, it sounds like he was a very decent man.
