Forms for Travelling - 04-11-2008, 06:05 PM

I'm going on my honeymoon in June and plan on taking my gear (short of the lighting gear) with me. Are there any forms I should be concerned with taking and filling out? I'm going to St. Lucia for 6 days and I really don't want to have to fight TSA/Customs when I come back.

I have alway carried a U.S. Customs 4457 form for cameras, computers, etc.

Some don't bother but why ask for problems.

That's great information.... I never would have thought of doing this.

Thank you!

David: DON'T DO IT! It's your HONEYMOON... just take your "walking around" lens and be done with it. I took a lot of my gear on mine and never used any of it.

U.S. Customs 4457 form - 04-15-2008, 05:25 PM

It is very simple to get. First complete a list of your inventory with descriptions and serial numbers. Second call the customs office for their fax number and arrange a time to come by with the actual items you have listed. They will have the form completed and just check off the items, sign the document and hand it to you. The customs agent in Midland will actually come to the curb at the airport to do the inspection.
