We made it to NC - 04-14-2008, 07:24 PM

Freezing our butts off but we made it on Friday evening. Had a few bumps but nothing major.
We had issues in Corpus getting our tag for our trailer as they had told us when we moved down not to switch it to TX unless we were going to drive it. So we didn't. When in in March and renewed our van. At that time we asked if they had temps that we could get to get it to VA since that is where it is titled etc... So they proceeded to tell us about a 7 and 15 day one I believe etc.... We told them it would be loaded and taken to VA etc... Apparently they didn't listed to that part lol.
So we went on Tues. to get the temp title, and were then told it had to be cash that was never mentioned and we don't carry cash. So I finally got a check cashed for $25 to find out that we couldn't do the 7 day temp tag etc..... That it couldn't be loaded nor taken out of state. Needless to say we were there for about 4 hours before we were finally able to get a 72 hour tag that was not guaranteed to work out of the state . Had it to start at Noon on Wed. Well I was running around to get medical records etc... (still weren't done by the way lol) to notice a nail in the tire so by the time we got the POVs weighed and the tire plugged it was 3pm when we finally hit the road.

We got to Winnie and it was starting to get dark, dh had me pull over cause the running lights weren't working but we had breaks and turn signals. He decides to "fix" them then we had nothing, by this time it was dark. He followed me closely and we headed for Beaumont. Unforunately no rooms any where. On a wed night lol. So we drove on to Sulphur. DH spent hours looking for a fuse that he was POSITIVE it was. Couldn't find a blown one any where etc...
Called the dealership in Lake Charles Thursday morning, they weren't one any more lol. So we headed to Layfayette, got to the dealership they looked at us like we were They referred us to someone else and so on etc... we finally found a comp to help us out. They finally found the fuse (beside of the battery in a little compartment by itself). I have learned to now know about everything when you have a dealership or anyone for that matter do something to your POV as we had them install the hitch etc...

Thankfully that was the worst of it once we got it fixed we were on our way and made it in about 6 Friday night.
The crappy part was we only got 150 miles to a tank of gas I do not want to see the CC bill lol.

But luckily no accidents, no tickets etc... so we are all good.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

We are heading to Dover on Thursday to catch a flight over to England for our Scotland trip. So I will check back then lol.

Breezy,
Nice to see you on this side of the world :) I feel your pain on the move as we did it not too long ago from Tx to Va, well everything was GREAT till we get to Atlanta for the night, coming in with storms and raining cats and dogs only to find out that the hotel overbooked and had to relocate us to different hotel 15 miles up the road and I HATE ATLANTA traffic even in the daytime much less at night raining cats and dogs with no idea where the heck I am :). Next morning wake up and people decided to block me in so we had to take the car of the trailer, trailer off of truck just to get the truck out, well when taking car off the trailer, one of the ramps slid off and half of car on trailer the other half waiting very patiently to drop to ground, luckily that didnt happen, so instead of leaving at 6:00 in the morning we didnt leave ATL till almost 10:00 since we had to wait for Penske to find us and get the car jacked up so we could get it back on the trailer to get it back on the truck, then finally getting into Richmond @ 9:00 that night coming into the Storms that were in ATL and having to drive 15 miles an hour cause I couldnt see the cars in front of or behind me.

All in all a fun trip and I HATED the CC bill then so I can only FEEL your pain now.

Can't wait to see the photos from London, You got extra room in your suitcase???? Promise I will only need a small enough airhole to breathe through

Great to see you made it safe and once you settle in we will have to get together and meet.

I wasn't towing anything, but your Atlanta experience sounds like the one I had in 1989, raining cats and dogs and couldn't get to the motel I wanted.

Thanks guys we were lucky we stayed ahead of the storms as they didn't hit here until Sat morning thankfully.
Stephen and Allen sorry to hear that you had a bad time in Atlanta. As for the blocked truck I would have probably went off on the idiot, Probably going door to door at the hotel untill I found who did it lol. I am mean like that lol.

Our worst traffic was in Houston. I made dh drive the trailer there. I drove every where else, including the Bayou which was my biggest fear, cause when we came down it was bare and the cross winds were horrible but it was easy peasy. Houston was stop and go though for about 2 hours. drove me batty as I hate driving his car too lol.

Stephen if you are 30 pounds or less we can through you in a bag, as the planes out of dover apparently are fairly small and that is the limit. And yes we will definately have to meet up.

Alan wish I would have been able to meet you since you were always so helpful to me. You know where to find me :D

Oh and I will be back in CC at some point for the lawsuit against the builder, as they couldn't get us in before we left.

I will definately post some photos when we get back :D
