how many of you do something special for the images you post on this forum or others? I have in the past just posted straight out - but i really like the way some action frames, etc make things look, i'm really just too lazy to do much...
having smugmug to link things to directly in posts has sort of fueled this ...but from now on, anything i post on my blog or here should have this type of frame..
i'd like to see what everyone else does.. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

really like the sig, too. ;)
I think the frame helps a lot on many pics, since it needs something to serve as a visual separation from the plain white page. The trim line acts as the visible edge of a regular mat.
Can't offer much additional here since this is similar to what I do in a lot of cases.

I water mark and sig everything i post on forums and out on the internet. Not that it much matter because it can be cropped out but at least it's there. I don't do any watermarking on my smugmug site though.

i have watermarking thru smugmug - although i only use it on certain directories - i've just liked this particular action for a few years and used to use it all the time, i'm just trying to be more consistent i guess...
thanks! | | | |

I use a 10pixel white border then over top of that an 8pixel black border. That gives me a black "frame" with a 2 pixel white edge inside it around the picture. It's a style I sorta made up I guess. I also usually smart-sharpen a little.

I see your point. I may have to do something different as well. I like the watermark I get from smugmug, but on some images, it's hard to see:
but on others it shows fine

I know mine is a lil bulky - but it's what I use to mark my stuff that I put on flickr. And it's also around the free lo-res stuff I give out for clients to post to their myspace, etc.. they don't argue about giving me the lil bit of free publicity >:o)

I used to frame but started thinking it distracted from the images so I stopped. I'll probably start doing it for my company web site just to add a little flair.

There's actions for these frames? I usually try to do something with a frame and a little watermark ( © 2008 Photography by Roy O'Dell ) unless I'm just too lazy. I don't even know why I do it. I just thought it looked cool. If I'm wasting my time I'll stop....

Mine is an action I created to add the frame and text at the push of a button. After I finish a set I'm working on I run image processor and take them all to 700px max and then run this action as a batch on them. Too quick. Too easy!

I use an action which I recorded to make my frames. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
