The day of the pro-wedding photographer is quickly going right down the dumper. Only the wealthy will be paying top dollar for a great photog before long. This whole industry is changing really fast.

I completely disagree. Yes, some brides will go with people with very little skill to save money. However, many will realize the true value of a professional.

Also, I think this guy is going to get burned out with brides penny pinching him. ... he is new... it wont last

I second Jessica's outlook. He definitely isn't making any money and he will get the bottom of the barrel as far as clients go. AND since they are paying him, they will be just as demanding and expect the world for NOTHING.

He won't last long.

He mentions in the ad that's he's new to weddings! If that's the case, he doesn't yet know how much time should be/will be spent after the ceremony/reception to fulfill his obligations.

Second, his "professional" website is a Smugmug site with a wedding gallery from one wedding. I've got nothing against Smugmug at all, but this guy's site just doesn't look like a professional photographer's site at all. This confirms his statement that he's new to weddings.

Another thing that makes him look less-than-professional, his email is a Yahoo address.

If I were a bride, I'd never give $1500.00 to a person with this sort of presentation.

After reading this I'm just going to quit IT all together and start my photography business.
I'm thinking this would be the life...

It sounds like he may be getting started and possibly might be in school. Makes sense to start out with low prices to get things paid along with a portfolio being built - then increasing after getting on your feet.

Its not just his low prices that make this a bad deal, he is bashing pros for making a profit. This would be like a home builder saying "Buy your house from me...how dare my competition make a profit off of you..."

Go inside his gallery and look at a few of his pictures. This person has a long way to go. VERY Very very posed with lousy arrangements, your grandmother could do better. Sometimes his flash fires and sometimes it doesn't. He leaves both in the gallery. I can't believe he gets that much money after people see his images. I wish all my competition's images looked like his. I could charge what ever I wanted for a basic wedding and I would get it.
