You're welcome. I think one of the power ways to get more followers is to make use of the "#twitteraccountname" tag when you post a tweet. Others see your tweet in that group, then begin to follow you if they're interested. It doesn't hurt to reciprocate by following some of your followers either.

I have searches in TweetDeck going for #togsfollow and #twittographers (plus I use both tags in my own posts) ... and make it a point to follow just about every photographer I see come past..

I'm not big on collecting followers. Especially if it means I have to follow thousands of people!
Right now I can log on and see what everyone I care about is up to, but the more people you follow, then you have to weed through it all to see the updates of people you like.
But I know a lot of it is just getting your tweets in front of as many people as possible, so following anybody and everybody is one way to do that.

Or is there a way to put people in groups? So you only see the update of the people in those groups?

If you use Tweetdeck or DestroyTwitter, you can put people in groups, but there's no way (yet) to do that on Twitter itself.

I didn't figure it out right away either, but once you've set up groups, Twitter becomes MUCH more manageable. Have fun! : )

One of the women who modeled for me last year added me to her Twitter account a month ago. She is my only follower. I also added her as a follower. I must be her dullest addition. So far, I've posted 3 Tweets, one of them being a complaint that most of the people who try to follow me are really just spammers, trying to publicize a cause or product and see me as a handy billboard.

On twitter, as some of you are already aware, the hashtag #togs is generally what a lot of us are using when we tweet anything photography or photographer related. Also for another cool and free tool, check out hootsuite - I usually use regular old twitter.com but hootsuite adds some cool features you might find useful for tracking and scheduling your tweets.
