If you can't buy from B&H..... - 05-06-2008, 08:29 PM

What on-line retailer do you trust most if you cannot buy from B&H? Just curious. As soon as I get my government check at the end of this week I'll be pulling the trigger on my D3. If B&H is out of stock I don't see me waiting until they get their next shipment. So, what would your next stop be? I kind of wanted to do this as a poll but given the fact that there are so many choices I thought I'd just leave it kind of open-ended.

Thanks!

I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon, they're pretty trust worthy and their customer service is outstanding. Just my 2 shiny copper pennies tho

I bought my MKIIN, quite a few lenses, bags, cards etc from Adorama.com and haven't had much any problems. Their prices are either the same or a little less than B&H. Them and B&H are pretty much the best choice in opinion.

Buydig, Adorama, Calumet, Samy's, Penn, and local if the price is close enough (say +/- $200 the average price online.) The one advantage to local being that if there's a problem (most) they can exchange or diagnose on the spot.

WOW... you must be getting a lot more of a 'government check' than I am. Congrats on hitting the jackpot and getting a D3. I could only afford a D300 with my check.... whenever it gets here!

I think you misunderstood. My government refund will not cover the entire price of the D3; it'll put me over the top when coupled with the money I've already saved.

Thanks for the feedback, folks!

BTW - I looked at Cameta and it doesn't appear to me that they even carry the D3.

Wes,

i would highly recommend Beach Camera\Buydig. I have bought two lenses, a flash and my new K20D from them in the last 6 months. Service was outstanding.

Adorama is trustworthy, look at their photo processing too. The prints are great and affordable.
