I'm waiting for some of the reviews to come in. I need to know if it's a family friendly movie before either I or my 13 year old son go see it.

I saw it, it was fantastic. Right up there with the Spiderman Series.
If you do go see it, make sure you stay after the credits ;)

I saw it and was completely blown away. I thought for sure it would be a dud, because who could ever imagine Robert Downey Jr. as a superhero? Well, I thought wrong. Unfortunately I didn't stay all the way for the credits to end. Guess I'll have to wait for the DVD, which I'll definitely be buying.

I saw it with my 9 year old son. We loved it. Stupid us left during the credits. Anyone has a link ot what happens after the credits? I've heard there is a buzz, but I don't know what it is all about.

I saw it last Saturday, to a sold out show. It was awesome. And I went in not knowing much about it, actually. Robert Downey, Jr. is fantastic in this role. Go see it! And do stay after the credits.

I've never read the comic...heck, I didn't even know there was an Iron Man comic. I've never even really gotten excited about comic-based movies. Old Batman was boring, Spiderman was okay, X-Men wasn't too bad, new Batman is great...but Iron Man will blow you away. Robert Downey Jr. was perfect for this role. One of the things I really liked about it was that there wasn't some grossly outlandish plot. Sure, you have to break through the walls of your imagination a little, but it was more realistic than most comic-based movies. I just hope they don't jump off the deep end with the sequels.

Saw it also.
2 thumbs up.
By far the best movie based on a comic I've seen yet.
I do like how Favreau did not rely on CG too much, and instead used old fashioned stop motion animation for the effects.

I liked it as well! Great story line and great graphics. I like how CG is becoming more unnoticeable and more realistically used to tell a story. I believe if you spend more time trying to figure out if it was CG then you aren't watching the movie. It was well done here. Iron Man was one of my favorites as a kid so it is cool to see him on the big screen. I can't reminder if I heard more than just a few curse words either.

Super awesome...I was even stoked at the end when Samuel L. Jackson came out for S.H.I.E.L.D. as Nick Fury - Ironman/Robert Downey Jr. is going to be in the new hulk movie (Edward Norton) as well.

I was very impressed by the film. It seems there are 2 trends for geek-related (ie - comic books, etc) - there's the camp of "we'll put a little money into efffects but those nerds will pay to see it because it was a comic book so to hell with getting good writing..." (fantastic four, daredevil, etc) versus the camp of people who make movies now, loved comic books then, and spend the extra time to write good scripts and direct them well (the new batman series, spiderman ... etc).
This movie is definitely in the "we love the genre so we're gonna do this right" category, and I think it surpasses spiderman (no teenagers who might trend towards whiney). The effects are fantastic, the CG is seamless, the dialog is great, the pacing is good, the characters are plausible. Anything I can think of to critique was well done.
I had a total blast when I watched it.
