Need a Staff Accountant Position? - 05-07-2008, 12:56 PM

I work for a Fortune 500 company (K. Hovnanian Homes) and we are losing one of our staff accountants, so we will be beginning the hiring process in the next week or so, but I thought I would throw the opportunity out to my friends at TPF before the position hits our recruiters and they are flooded with resumes.

Requirements: 4-year degree in Accounting, job history that will show progressive advancement in a business accounting role (at least 3 years experience), ability to multi-task and willingness/ability to learn new skills (as we constantly try to challenge our Accounting staff to take on new projects). I am sure our recruiters will have a much more "flowery" job description, but that about sums it up.

As for compensation . . . ??? . . . the hire is not in my area of responsibility, so I can't say for sure, but it is competitive with other staff accountant positions in Dallas (we have never lost anyone in our Accounting Department b/c of compensation).

We have great benefits and a gorgeous office in Plano (Tollway/Plano Parkway), so if you (or someone you know) wants to get their resume seen prior to the position being listed online, send me a resume, with salary requirements (and a cover letter if you like) to: ssummers@khov.com (Shane Summers) and I will forward it to the CFO.

I will tell you upfront - all I can do is get your resume seen by the right person . . . after that, it is all up to you! Good Luck!

this is a very nice offer ... i've learned in the past that internal referrals can get more consideration than "HotJob" type resumes

hopefully you will find someone to fill your staff acountant that appreciates the job !!!
