Anyone get hit hard last night? I was woken up at 2:30am by my power going off and on for about 30 minutes. The wind and thunder didn't help my sleep much either and when I came to work this morning, all of the traffic lights were completely out; not even flashing red. And it's supposed to continue today. Fun, fun...

Here's a pic I took this morning of a weird cloud formation that everyone was looking at when I got to work this morning.

I didn't hear a thing. But noticed quite a mess of fallen tree branches and leaves in my neighborhood.

You sound like my daughters, they slept through a hail storm that put holes in the siding right outside of their bedroom and they knew nothing about it until this morning. They did not believe that it even happened until they went outside to put their backpacks in the car to go to school.

It came by here at 8:30pm last night. ROARing so, that we huddled in our central most room, the laundry room, and waiting til the roar died away as it passed over! Some in Cedar Park south of here saw a funnel cloud but not touching down. We had nearly invisible hail, but Round Rock had up to baseball sized hail! Southeast of Hutto, at least one roof came off.

I do not want to hear that roar again unless I'm behind an F-18 taking off at an airshow!

This photo looks like the birth of a tornado. A vortex is created when wind at one altitude blows in the opposite direction of a lower altitude. Usually at one (or more) points the vortex descends all the way to the ground creating a tornado.
This is a good shot. I would submit it to the Weather Channel. They are always looking for good clear shots of weather like this.
