Ewwwwww. I love Matagorda beach, but wouldn't want to stumble across those guys.

I just saw those same photos on another forum. If the poster isn't you and you didn't give permission, you might want to send a note to the admin.

My uncle rode out Hurricane Carla on his 28' boat which he anchored up the Colorado River at matagorda. After the storm, he said the levee was solid with rattlers, and people were killing them with hoes and shovels.

Yes, I'm Pat Pat the Water Rat. I hardly ever comment but I do like to read some of the threads. Photography has almost replaced fishing as my favorite hobby, but I do still like to fish.

That's why I tell my kids the same thing my parents told me. Don't go in the dunes, stay by the water.

There's really no telling where the original photos came from. Heard on the radio yesterday that another version of the email indicates this was in Wyoming (IIRC). Those photos look pretty rocky to be Matagorda, don't they?

Two things come to mind.

Thank goodness for zoom lenses.
And you can still zoom with your feet -- zoom out that is.

Wouldn't you hate to see that and have only a 10-22mm with you?
