but dont count out Archuleta I think we are going to see him and I would not be surprise if he had half a dozen offers shoved in his face tonight!!! he was good but I see him fizzling out..

By getting one right I meant that a rocker wasn't passed off like they did Daughtry. It also seems that Idol is good at sending folks into areas of music they are best suited. Underwood has been a fantastic find for the Country genre, Clarkson for Pop, Aiken for the Classic Generation, Studdard for the Blues/Rap-Pop, so it was time for a rocker.

But I think it all boils down to personal taste as well. Idol has really produced some outstanding singers.

America definitely got this one right. David Cook is a well-rounded talent who can actually get radio airplay...something that will be more difficult for the talented, young David A to get. Not worried about David A, though. He'll be a tween sensation...and then in his mid-twenties, he'll go the Josh Grobin route and will be very successful. (Just my prediction.)

It was time for someone a little less sappy and a little more rockin' to win. I'm thrilled!

@Holly - I believe Taylor Hicks was dropped by his label after poor record sales.

I've never really watched the show ever, but David Cook was on fox and friends this morning and he seems like a cool guy and they were talking about his brother and his health and stuff. It was coo.

I dont doubt it... I dont think he was GOOD enough for American idol... ok let me rephrase that... he had good voice but did not have the RIGHT pursauna for idol...
