Howdy folks,

For once, I'm posting here from home, and I don't have to worry about a flight to catch back to Ft. Benning, GA. In fact, any of the plans I have up until Fall '08 begins at Texas State, I flat don't have to do if I don't feel like it

Friday, I got my DD214, and signed out of the 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division after nearly 5 years. Terminal Leave feels great, even though I've spent every minute of it so far packing, unpacking, and repacking again for my move to San Marcos on Monday.

Freedom isn't free, but I've sure as heck paid my tab!

Indeed it does. Unfortunately my body is still programmed to get up before the sun. I didn't crash until around 3am. Got right back up at 6am. Of course, my stuff isn't going to pack itself, so oh well!

The move is complete, all setup in my apartment in San Marcos now. Monday I'm rubber to the road out to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and the Rockies. Then I have to come back and find a civilian job before I fly to NYC for my 25th bday.

Thanks again folks, it's great to be back. I've been constantly busy since my last day at Ft. Benning, but it's been good busy - and busy on MY terms. I could get used to this :)

woot! congratulations! frame that thing! hahahaha. I hate Benning, well and the Army for that matter (I;m not in but the hubs is). Welcome back to civie life. :)
