I've had a few odd things happen to me and my D3 recently. A week or two ago I'm getting ready to shoot a baseball game and notice that the autofocus and verticle shutter release will not work. I'm thinking, "Dang it! Something's wrong with the camera already and I have to send it back to be checked out." Turns out that the focus lock on the back of the camera had been turned on, and the verticle shutter release had been turned off. The thing is, I don't remember ever touching either of those dials. This past Sunday I was doing some shots in church and noticed that, even though I was in manual mode, the shutter speed kept changing by itself. Some of my shots would come out severely underexposed, and some very overexposed. Turns out that bracketing (5 shot) had been set. Again, I don't remember touching that control. Must be Gremlins. Glad I wasn't stupid enough to send the camera in. The Nikon guys would still be laughing.
