Spent some time at Houston Camera Exchange this morning...
I picked up a few items, one of which was a monopod.
This very nice salesman showed me one that just fit my needs. However,
I had a problem understanding

what he was trying to tell me about not needing a new head for the monopod and to "use the head I already was using" on my tripod. So, I explained to him that I didn't like removing the head from my tripod.
He said, "you don't need to remove the head. Just use the head you are using now".

Now I was REALLY confused!!! We went back and forth because I could not understand how I could use one head on two 'pods without removing it.
After a minute or so of this, and seeing how dumb I was,

he said, "let me show you"

. So, he grabbed me by the ear (just kidding) and took me where the lenses were. He showed me something I've never used!
There's a collar on each of my long lenses that will allow to move the camera from landscape to portrait. What a revelation!!!!
I thanked him profusely for teaching me something today.
These guys at Houston Camera Exchange are the best.
