Rather pointless, why not just shoot it at night. Photography is not photoshop any more than it is Rodinal.

John, if the point of the challenge were to take a night picture or any picture, you might be right, but since the challenge is about Photoshop, and NOT photography, your opinion isn't needed. For people trying to improve at Photoshop, it very much has a point.

I think some one needs to point out here there is more to photography than Photoshop and photoshops skills. We seem in TPF to be forgetting photographic skills and want to spent time with cute photoshop skills rather than basics.

John - point taken, not really the place; but the title is for Photoshop. You could start a new thread for Photography challenge and help others skill for your point. just a suggest. We are all here learning.

John,

I'm sure you know that there are more challenges and categories in this forum that are not related to Photoshop. Some people like to get creative and play around with the tools they have available, one of them being this software. It is up to each person to pick what they want to do.
As you can see in previous Photoshop challenges, it is all about how much fun you can have!!! I love to see others creativity.

Have fun and take it easy

lots of people consider photo manipulation and photoshop is an art form in itself. Just like ansel Adams being an artist in the darkroom

You mean this kind of skill? You don't learn it in a week challange contest.

I'll wander of to my cave but I don't think most people are here to learn they are here to have some just show them how to do it particulary when it comes to photoshop.

What if some of us like playing around in Photoshop for the heck of it, for practice? No one said anyone was going to learn anything in a week... what kind of attitude is that? Should we not post in various photography contest threads because we won't learn anything in a week? I guess I just don't understand the negativity.

This thread reminded me of something...

I am fairly new to this site but have noticed almost every discussion seems to have someone that wants to complain about something. Usually I just ignore those replies and move on and LEARN from what others have to say here. So I was about to do the same when I read John's comment. My curiosity got the better of me though.
