Two charged with giving Winehouse drugs

LONDON -- Police have charged a man and a woman in London with supplying drugs to Amy Winehouse.

The charges stem from a video that appears to show the singer smoking crack cocaine.

London police say John Blagrove and Cara Burton have been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and the drug known as ecstasy.

The suspects were released on bail today, with court appearances set for July 1st.
Police began an investigation after pictures from the footage were published in The Sun newspaper last January. Detectives say Winehouse will not be charged in the case.

The singer has seen her rise to fame overshadowed by media attention to her turbulent private life. She is best known for her breakthrough hit "Rehab."




What in the WORLD... did I read this wrong they are charging the people who gave it to her, but they are not CHARGING her?? okay okay I know Amy winehouse is a celebrity but come on... all the more reason to charger her as well.. she "could" be a role model... this just ERKS my nerves....

Well...Is it against the law to do drugs? Or just illegal to posses them? That could by why she wasn't charged

How did Amy Windhouse become such a big deal anyway? Her voice is mediocre, she's not very attractive, she doesn't really have any stage presence that I've seen, and she freezes up any time she's put on the spot.

amy winehouse is wack. her image is what made her so popular..the celebrity junkie look is what she is supposed to be...if she got cleaned up and was normal...she would be so under the radar...and probably wouldn't have even been nominated for any grammy..... she knows what she is doing... she is marketing herself. you got to stick out to be noticed...and she is doing a good job..

In UK possesion of Drugs is a MUCH different charge (depending on amount/use etc.) to Dealing Drugs.
All were arrested. But suppliers often get harsher sentencing.

I just saw this... this is from earlier this year she did her time, for this one... just the way that they write things up... made it seem as if she walked off scott free!

Possesion, doing, we she had to have them in her possesion in order to do them!

oh well... just ERK'ed me the wrong way when I read this!

Holly, it's basically penalising "Dealers" more than "users" as if there were NO dealers then ergo no users. Dos'nt work of course but there ya go. I certainly do NOT think my home country is perfect in any way shape or fowm esp. in regard to Policing.

She has a great voice and an awesome singing style.
