I didn't know Andy personally and have no idea what his friends and family would want, but for me personally, flowers at a funeral are not on top of the list. They just seem so temporary to me. If there is some cause or fund that he would better be remembered by, perhaps that might be more appropriate.
It's your call Abel. I will donate in any case, but I know I would prefer something different.

Perhaps a donation to a local organization that he supported in his name. Police officers charity, fallen officers fund, etc.?

not sure when the services will be but i know mike will keep us informed.
Scott and I were also thinking that the funds may be better served to the family he leaves behind in order to help with the financial aspect of this tragic loss.

I know andy mentioned the 100 club. he liked that very much. I asked him what the stickers meant in the window of the car in front of us, and he started talking about that. he'd like that very much.
thank you everyone for your thoughts

Wow... very sad news.
I know his passing was unexpected, and this is sometimes a private question, but if he was suffering from a disease or medical condition, perhaps donations could be made in his name to an organization that is researching cures for that disease or condition...

:( I enjoyed reading his posts, my regards to his family. I wish I had some money to help out with, but I'm just a poor student.

I always enjoyed reading his posts. Perhaps donations to a flower fund for a small spray and the rest to the family? Flowers are temporary but I know that the families feel very sad when there is a service that is barren with no flowers to say "you are missed". I don't know that I can donate at this time but my thoughts and prayers will be with the family and friends.
