I agree with Wayne: paid for counts for a lot, including for the savings on insurance. You carry only what you want on it above the required liability for you.
Your Trooper might be worth fixing up. I drove a 1995 Rodeo for nearly nine years and loved it. The time came where I wanted something a little smaller and more efficient, but I'd gotten my money's worth (150k+ miles and very few problems, other than recurring oil leaks in the engine tube seals). Get it running just the way you want it, have a cheapo paint job on it if it looks a little shabby, throw on some seat covers, etc. Even with a family, the inside of my Rodeo looked nearly brand new when I sold it (gray cloth). I still see the old thing driving around with its new owner. |
